Our Approach

Backed by Science, Driven by Empathy

At South Bay Behavioral Health, we never lose sight of the fact that everyone who enters our clinic is a unique individual, deserving of respect, dignity and compassion. We encourage patients to be active participants in their care, and we seriously consider their input and feedback at every stage. When you come to us, we'll get to know and appreciate you as a person, not just a name on a chart.

We believe in price transparency, which means we will always inform you of the cost of your treatment before you start, and we will never charge you any hidden fees or extra expenses. We offer comprehensive psychiatric services, ranging from medication management to psychotherapy, to address your mental health needs holistically.

We are committed to treat-not-cheat, which means we will never prescribe unnecessary medications or treatments, and we will always follow the best practices and ethical standards of our profession. We charge a true and fair fee, which reflects the quality and value of our care, and we accept most insurance plans and offer flexible payment options.

We are here to help you achieve your mental wellness goals and improve your quality of life. We hope you will choose us as your trusted partner in your journey to recovery.

FAQs

  • It depends on your situation. If you have been hospitalized for mental health reasons, or currently are currently on any medications, our providers will need to review your medical records before we can move forward. Other than that, the process is a breeze and we will look for soonest appointment for you!

  • Unfortunately, we do not offer those services. We are a psychiatrist group who specialize in medication management, as well as other services such as:

    1. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

    2. SPRAVATO (esketamine) treatment

    3. Neuropsychological Testing

  • If you are in urgent need for a therapist, or any emergency, we recommend reaching out to your Primary Care Provider (PCP). They will provide you with a list of therapists that will fit your needs and preferences. In case of an emergency, please check out the closet Urgent Care to your location.

California Statewide Hotlines, Warmlines, and Resources

  • Dr. Mai is the only provider that offers this service and only for established patients of 6 months and over. If this is an emergency, please contact your Primary Care Provider (PCP) or Urgent Care.

  • Telemedicine allows us to deliver a unique consultation experience to you remotely using HIPAA compliant video conferencing tools. This service allows you to connect to your provider with ease in a timely manner, and is designed with the patient in mind to be very user-friendly. Virtual consultations can be done using devices that most patients have easy access to such as a smartphone or a computer with a built-in video camera, so you won’t need to worry about having any specialized equipment. Using our telemedicine service is simple, and our friendly staff would be happy to answer any questions you may have about utilizing this service prior to your appointment.

For your and our convenience, we only accept new Telehealth patients who are within 50 miles of our Los Gatos location. Thank you for your understanding.

Let us help you find the care that’s right for you.
